Welcome Home-2019
While the name of the production company was different this time around, this film was made by the majority of my group from last year's "Hey, Assistant". This year, we were told to create a story that did not have talking for the first 10 seconds, a glass object of importance must be submerged, and the object must make a musical noise. The story development took the majority of the first night, while most of the principle photography took that whole Saturday. After we shot the scenes in the woods, I began work on editing the full film together, leaving gaps for where I knew the rest of the scenes required to shoot were going to go. The editing process took the remainder of our 48 hours to complete, as well as the construction of an original song for the film's soundtrack.

This film was truly a great experience, and getting cool ideas for creative shots was fun to experiment with, (like climbing a tree for an aerial shot, or seeing how fast we could work a 360 degree shot without any of the crew being seen). Once the final film came together, we were incredibly proud of the outcome. The thing I am most impressed about with it is the fact that we did not rely on dialogue at all until the final seconds of the film. I am always a big fan of films showing me things rather than telling me outright.

Our efforts for this film did not go unrecognized. The Ozarks CW nominated us for the Saucer Prize for Best Sci-Fi film. Thanks to a multitude of voters, we won that award, and got our film televised on the Ozarks CW.
Hey, Assistant-2018
This video was some of the most fun I have ever had while working on a film. Between all of our cast and crew being genuinely great people to being prepared for any challenge we faced, the whole process of making this film was super easy. When one thinks of creating a film within 48 hours, some may imagine that lack of sleep comes into play, along with stress levels exceeding safe parameters. With this film, we all had jobs set up beforehand, and we knew how to do them. We finished everything earlier than planned, and got to go home every night and sleep. By the time the film was ready to turn in, we all felt confident that we had just made something great.
This film was nominated in the Top Ten Audience Favorite category during the 2018 SATO48 Awards, as well as nominated for best editing by Taylor Hickerson and yours truly.
